Specialist Moulding project for Brighton & Hove Council

Project description

This huge ongoing project for Brighton & Hove council is to replace all of the specialist moulding to the boundary walls of a listed regency style area of Hove. After successfully completing two phases of the ongoing project we have just been awarded the third phase which is due to start in March 2018.

The third phase calls for the creation of Balusters, moulded and caste in Roman cement; these have been created in our specialist workshop in Brighton.

Specialist Moulding - Ballister

Work to date

The process is to remove the original baluster, cornices, piers and mouldings. Rebuild the piers and formed lintels and re-run in situ the new mouldings. Then the new balusters are set in place and a top lintel added to cap off the wall. More moulds are run to finish and replicate the original style and structure of the wall; the walls are all listed and need to match perfectly.

Finally the wall is decorated again to match the heritage colour for the area provided by the council.
