Bespoke Render Refurbishment Project in Sunningdale, Ascot

The project

We were contacted by a client who required a bespoke render refurbishment project in Sunningdale, Ascot. He had this idea of a White House with clean lines. Along with his architect, designed a house facade which would meet his and his family’s dream.

We arranged a meeting and discussed the options. Along with a representative from Krend (render manufacturer), we were able to design a render system that would last over time. With detailing to keep the building clean over a period of time. As well as this, due to the many different sub straights, withstand movement of the building. We agreed on expansion joints where the different sub straights meet, as well the type of base coat to use. With different finishes that would match in between the soffit ceiling and walls.

We tendered for the works and were successful in winning the works from other approved contractors.

The works commenced in late spring 2018. This involved cleaning the building down from dust, from previous building works, as well as algae and dirt from the surrounding trees.

After this we applied a primer, base coat, full mesh, and a K-1 silicone scrapped finish. The garden walls were rendered in a different colour to make them contrast from the rest of the building.

Part of the suggested spec we all agreed on was the application of Kpro. Kpro is a silicone primer which is applied once the render has cured which allows the render not only to breath but keeps the render clean longer. Another part of the spec was to render the soffit ceiling in the front porch area using a thin coat render and the colour match was agreed using our knowledge and expertise with the render products.
